The Tanger Med Port Authority (TMPA) announced an 11% increase in revenue for the year through September 2024, reaching more than 3 billion dirhams (approximately $300 million USD), compared to the same period in the previous year.
TMPA reported that for the third quarter alone, revenue amounted to 968 million dirhams, a 6% rise from the previous quarter.
The port handled a total of 103 million tons of goods by the end of September 2024, a 12.5% increase year-over-year. During the third quarter, 35 million tons of cargo were processed.
Investments made by the authority totaled 5.5 billion dirhams, including spending on infrastructure, roadworks, utility networks, and information technology systems.
The TMPA also reported a decrease in its financing debt, which stood at 9.5 billion dirhams, with 4.6 billion dirhams in bond loans. This represented a 0.4% reduction from the end of 2023.
